TALON participation in Data Week 2023

Data Week 2023 functions as the annual convocation for the European research and innovation communities focused on Big Data and Data Driven AI. This event provides a distinguished occasion to exchange knowledge and findings, participate in conversations regarding shared interests, promote cooperative efforts, establish novel partnerships, and recognize developing obstacles and suggestions.

Data Week 2023 is co-organised by BDVA and EUHubs4Data project in collaboration with the Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE). During Data Week 2023, European Big Data and Data-Driven AI research and innovation communities share knowledge and results, discuss topics of common interest, find synergies, build new collaborations, and identify new challenges and recommendations. This Data Week’s edition will take place physically at Luleå, Sweden, between 13 – 15 June 2023 with the central theme “Data Meets Infrastructure at the Edge (in Luleå)!”

On June 14 at 5:30 pm, a special session will be held on ‘Building a Cognitive Cloud-Edge Continuum for Next-Generation Data Processing Applications’. Davide Dalle Carbonare from Engineering Ingegneria Informatica is slated to deliver a presentation on TALON, an initiative funded by the European Union that aims to create an AI architecture capable of complete automation. The project seeks to imbue edge computing with intelligence in a manner that is both adaptable and energy efficient, while also providing a high degree of flexibility and explainability.

This session aims to investigate potential synergies among the current Research and Innovation Projects within the Cloud-Edge-IoT community. During this session, the speakers presented an overview of their Cognitive Computing solutions, which include next-generation meta-operating systems for the smart Internet of Things, as well as AI-enabled computing continuum cloud-edge platforms. These solutions are developed by projects within the Cloud-Edge-IoT community.
